Why attend a retreat? Because attending retreats allows us to experience the absolute joy of being ourselves. We can focus on strengthening our self-esteem in a peaceful environment. Sharing with others promotes an opportunity to learn and grow
The dictionary defines a retreat as a place affording peace, quiet, privacy, or security. Retreats allow us to withdraw from whatever may be causing us discomfort, unhappiness, and occasionally illness.
Our lives are busy. As women we are often the givers in our family, community and society. Women are generally socialised from an early age to put the needs of others ahead of their own. Promoting our own interests and focusing on ourselves occasionally is essential to our wellbeing. There is a gift in giving but we must remember that we cannot give from an empty vessel. We need to value our worth and recognise that by renewing and replenishing our own energies we become healthier and more able to cope with the demands of family, work and relationships.
My Overnight Retreat in Pullenvale is a celebration of beautiful, generous-spirited women coming together in a serene space, creating connections, authenticity, fun, laughter and deep love. I always feel blessed to be a part of this.
We have more in common and are more connected to each other than we may realise. We all take hits, bumps in the road of life. Retreats allow us the time to address our needs, create deep connection with others, and renew body, mind and spirit.
